()Best described as "just happy to be here", Dan is playful, jovial, and occasionally boisterous. He is almost always happy to meet new people and try new experiences.
()His greatest weakness is a tendency to forget social graces when over-excited. He enjoys adding levity to any situation, which is not always appropriate.
()Dan forms connections easily and is nearly incapable of breaking them, even if someone is more trouble than they're worth. To forget someone or leave them behind is unthinkable to him.
FAMILY
Dan has two fairly unremarkable parents and a younger brother, all of whom still live in Limsa Lominsa. He also shares an unbreakably close bond with the woman who rescued him, Britannica De Aurelia.BACKSTORY
In his young adulthood, Dan worked as a sailor on a merchant vessel. Their route saw them trading precious metals and gems between various port cities. The money was good for a sailor just starting out and the places they visited were almost universally beautiful and vibrant.Alas, it wasn't to last. On a particularly ambitious run, the ship capsized in a storm. The young man swam for his life, but couldn't stop the waves from pulling him down. He propelled himself in any direction, praying that it would be up. Just when all hope seemed lost, his prayers were answered.Dan didn't find the surface again, but he found an underwater cavern teeming with life and rich with deposits of aetheric fire crystals.
The creatures great and small sustained him, and the crystals kept him from freezing to death as he spent the next three years down there.Hidden from the sun, his skin and hair lost all color. Far from the nearest living soul, he forgot his name. He simply lived like an animal, hunting, defending his territory, and carving out his niche in nature. It would have been how he spent the rest of his days, had it not been for Britannica.A clever adventurer found Dan in her quest for knowledge and treasure. She brought him back to civilization, and over the years, has come to consider him the greatest haul she'd ever brought back. Dan once again learned to wear clothes, eat at a table, and speak to other people, but he kept the instincts that isolation had taught him, and the only name his dearest friend had ever called him.
